Blu vincennes

€320.00

The City of Vincennes on Paris's outskirts is famous for porcelain in brilliant ground colours 'couleurs de fond'. The earliest ground colour used at Vincennes was blue, known as 'bleu lapis', a reference to the stone, lapis lazuli. It was introduced in 1751, probably to imitate Chinese powdered blue grounds. In the 1770s, it was known as 'gros bleu’, dark blue. As a brand of superb sophistication, Lancia offered this colour inder name 'Vincennes Blu'.

If you are a 'Tifosi della Ferrari' consider it as 'Blu Pozzi', a Ferrari colour named in honour of Charles Pozzi, the Parisian Ferrari importer.
